We fill our lives with distractions. Information comes at us faster and louder than ever, and everyone begs for our attention.
How do we keep from letting distractions keep us from what is important?
In the Bible, we have a story of Jesus visiting Martha's home, where she lives with her sister, Mary. Martha is frustrated with her sister because she has chosen to sit at Jesus' feet instead of helping her around the house.
We can all identify with Martha. She is trying to respond well to her position as a host and provide a welcoming environment for her guests.
And yet, Martha's busyness prevents her from being truly present with Jesus.
Distractions, if not managed, can create a rift between us and our loved ones.
Where in your life are distractions hindering you from what truly matters? Who or what needs your undivided attention right now?

Weekend Prayer
Loving God, Grant us the grace to be present with those we love, to give them our undivided attention and affection. Please help us see where distractions keep us from nurturing our relationships and living fully in each moment. May we find peace in Your presence and focus our hearts on what is eternal. In Jesus name, Amen.
Wisdom Nugget: Be intentional about recognizing the people and moments that count.
A Question to Consider: Who or what needs your undivided attention right now, and what steps can you take to give it?
