“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him; bless his name. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” - Psalm 100: 4-5
A man joined his friend for dinner and was impressed by how he entered the house. He asked his wife how her day went and told her how beautiful she looked. The happy couple embraced each other and sat down for dinner. After they ate, the husband complimented his wife on the meal.
Impressed, the guest went home and tried the acts of thankfulness out on his wife. Arriving home, he embraces his wife and says, “You look wonderful!” Then, he adds, “Sweetheart, I am the luckiest guy in the world.”
His wife burst into tears. She cried,” My day is just horrible. First, little Billy got into a fight at school. The oven is broken. And now my husband has come home drunk!”
Let's be honest: life is hard. We all have challenges, and sometimes it feels like there's no way out. But what if I told you that we could choose to see the beauty in our struggles? What if I told you that being thankful for the hard things in life gives us the freedom to choose a better path?
When we look past our circumstances and see the big picture, we can see the truth of who God is and how God loves us. We can understand why He has allowed certain things into our lives and how they are helping us grow into who He created us to be.
I know this because it's true for me. Focusing on the blessings that come from my struggles helps me move forward instead of letting my pain hold me back. It gives me hope when everything seems hopeless and joy when it seems impossible to find any happiness at all.
If you're looking for a new perspective on your life, I encourage you to consider this: God wants us to embrace God's grace through thankful hearts so that we can truly live freely!
