Picture this: A hot, dusty road outside Jericho, packed with people, excited because Jesus is passing through. Enter Bartimaeus—a blind man not in the mood to be ignored. He hears that Jesus is nearby and, without hesitation, starts shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Jesus stops. He doesn’t let the crowd rush Him. He doesn’t assume He already knows what Bartimaeus wants. Instead, He does something straightforward yet profound—He asks, “What do you want me to do for you?”
What if we followed Jesus’ example? What if we listened before assuming, asked before acting, and valued people before we rushed to fix things?
When we listen well, we love well. And that’s where the real miracles happen.
