Mid-Week Inspiration: Wednesday, May 8, 2024
I have always needed clarification about which two colors, when mixed, make a new color. But I have been told you get purple when mixing red and blue.
In our politically divided world, I would like to see more 'purple,' a metaphor for unity. And I would like to see more of it because I have also learned that you get angry when you mix fear and hurt. Much of the angry rhetoric we hear from politicians today comes from a place of fear and hurt.
Anger is a sign that something within us needs attention. It tells us that we've been hurt, that we're afraid, that something important to us is at stake.
Regarding anger, the apostle Paul gives us some good advice: "Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil" (Ephesians 4: 26 - 27).
The first step towards healing is paying attention to the hurt and fear causing you to react in anger.

Mid-Week Prayer: Gracious God, Help us bridge the divides between us, whether political, cultural, or personal. Let us strive towards unity, healing, and peace, knowing that these qualities reflect your love for us. Amen.
Anger can fuel division, but it can also signal what needs healing. Let's reflect on our emotions, address our wounds, and work towards a more unified, harmonious world. #Healing #Unity
A Question to Consider: How can we strive to bridge divides, whether political, cultural, or personal, to create a more unified world?
