Mid-Week Inspiration: Wednesday, May 4, 2022
Nathaniel came home heartbroken. He had just been fired from his job. But, instead of responding with worry, his wife said, “Now you can write your book!”
He wasn’t so positive. “What will we live on while I am writing?” he asked. She opened a drawer and revealed a wad of money she had been saving from the housekeeping budget. “I always knew you were a man of genius,” she told him.
She believed in her husband. And because she did, he wrote. And because he wrote, every library in America has a copy of The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
In Hebrews 3:13, we are told to “encourage one another daily.” Who in your world needs encouragement today? Who needs you to believe in them? The power to believe in someone may be all they need to overcome whatever challenges they face.
As we approach Mother’s Day, I would like to take an opportunity for us to honor the women in our lives who have encouraged us to become the best version of ourselves.
Send me an email with a picture and a short description of an individual you would like to celebrate. I will include them in the Sunday edition of the newsletter.
