Mid-Week Inspiration: Wednesday, July 13, 2022
A few years ago, I got invited to work on a community project, and the person attempting to persuade me to get involved said, “It is easy, and It won’t take up too much time.”
I was fooled.
It was very time-consuming. And I had to stick with it until the end, not wanting to let anyone down. However, the result was not excellent, and I felt I had let down some of my other commitments.
I learned from that experience to always be clear on expectations.
Jesus says, “Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.” And then, he gives two examples of counting the cost before committing.
Jesus is refusing to lie to us. Instead, he wants us to know what it will cost to follow him.
It will always cost you something. And yet, the benefits are out of this world.

Dancing for a Cause is a collaborative event designed to strengthen community support for three local non-profit agencies serving children and families: Alliance for Literacy, Center Point, and Rape Response.
I will be one of the ten dancers at this year’s event. And I can use your support!
