Mid-Week Inspiration: Wednesday, January 3, 2024
When my kids were younger, the choice bedtime book was “We're Going On a Bear Hunt.” On weekend hiking trips, we would turn the story into a fun game of searching for an imaginary bear.
As a family hunting our imaginary bear, I tell myself this is crazy. Normal people don't chase bears. They run away from them.
And yet, sometimes in life, we discover that the biggest risks bring the greatest opportunities. We also learn that taking no risks could be the greatest risk of all.
So, as you set out to make resolutions this New Year, ask yourself, "What bears in your life need to be chased?" What opportunities need to be taken? Let's go into the New Year boldly declaring, "I'm going on a bear hunt. I'm going to catch a big one!"

Mid-Week Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, in life's uncertainties and challenges, I come before You, seeking the confidence that only You can provide. In Your presence, I find the strength and assurance that my heart longs for. Give me the courage to step out in faith, even when the path is unclear. Let Your love cast out fear, and may Your grace be my strength in moments of weakness. Help me to embrace the challenges I face, seeing them as opportunities to grow and to witness Your power at work in my life. Amen.
