Mid-Week Inspiration: Wednesday, February 7, 2024
I follow people from around the world on my social media feed. I like watching people take big adventures and visit exotic places. If I am honest, sometimes I get envious of their lifestyle.
How many of us live our lives through the lens of other people? In doing so, we miss out on the opportunities and joys in our lives. And if truth be told, what we see online are fragments of reality, carefully selected and polished for everyone to see.
In the Bible, God says through the prophet Jeremiah, "I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good to give you a future and a hope."
Stay focused on your own life and trust the Lord to give you a future filled with hope and goodness.
Trust in the Lord and do good;
live in the land and enjoy security.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will make your vindication shine like the light
and the justice of your cause like the noonday.
Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him;
do not fret over those who prosper in their way,
over those who carry out evil devices. - Psalm 37: 3 - 7

A Question to Consider: Identify three major distractions or external influences that have recently made it difficult for you to focus on your life and spiritual journey. How do you plan to address these distractions moving forward?
Mid-Week Prayer: Lord, I ask for the strength and clarity to keep my eyes fixed on the journey You have laid out for me, resisting the distractions and comparisons that often cloud our vision. As I focus on my life, help me also be a beacon of Your love and hope to others. May my journey inspire those around me to seek Your face and trust Your promises. Let my life be a testament to the joy and fulfillment of walking in Your ways. Amen.
