Mid-Week Inspiration: Wednesday, December 21, 2022
There is a story about a man who was home with his children one afternoon while his wife was out Christmas shopping. When the kids entered the room, he was reclining on the couch, half sleeping and half watching a football game.
They wanted to put on a Christmas play for him. One child said, "I am Mary," and another said, "I am a shepherd."
Finally, the last child, the eight-year-old, came out with her arms-filled presents. "I am all three wise men," she said. "I bring three gifts: gold, circumstance, and mud."
The story of Christmas reminds us that God takes us in our most ordinary circumstances and where we are our authentic selves - with our mud - and makes something extraordinary out of it if we trust and obey.
Where do you need to trust God today?
