Mid-Week Inspiration: Wednesday, April 9, 2025
Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields. Then those who went ahead and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our ancestor David! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” - Mark 11: 8 - 10
Palm Sunday is full of expectations. The crowd is ready for a king—a warrior to overthrow Rome. But then comes Jesus… on a donkey—no army, no weapons—just humility and peace.
The people wanted power; Jesus offered transformation. He didn’t seize control. He changed hearts.
Today, we still look to politics and power to fix things. We want leaders who fight for our cause. But Palm Sunday asks: Do we want Jesus to take our side, or do we want the real Jesus—who calls us beyond politics into a kingdom built on love and peace?
Maybe He is not the king we expect, but He is the king we need.

Question to Consider
What expectations do I place on Jesus that reflect my own desires rather than His mission?
Mid-Week Prayer
King Jesus, Forgive us for the times we’ve tried to make You fit our agendas.
Teach us to see You as You truly are—not just the King we expect, but the King we desperately need. Amen!
