Jamey's Newsletter: Sunday, October 22, 2023
When my mom turned 60, she said she wanted to go skydiving for her birthday. So, 15,000 feet above the earth, we jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.
The hardest part was the last step because once I took that step out of the plane, there was no turning back. My last step was a step of faith. And I discovered then that faith breaks the power of fear in the face of uncertainty.
0ur capacity to deal with a changing future will be determined by how well we handle uncertainty. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
In other words, faith gives us the confidence to face uncertain times. And not just faith in general but faith in the one who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Weekly Prayer
Heavenly Father,
In the tapestry of life, with its many twists and turns, teach us to live with a heart full of joy. May we find delight in the simple moments, laughter in the face of trials, and hope even in the midst of sorrow. By the grace of Your Son, Jesus Christ, fill us with a joy that surpasses understanding, so that in all things, we may radiate the light of Your love. Guide our hearts, Lord, to always find joy in You, the source of our strength and the wellspring of our happiness.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
