Honoring the Women in Our Lives who Mean so Much
Teresa Bodine
From her daughter (Kelly Webber): Happy Mother’s Day to the best of the best! Your kindness, generosity, selflessness, and compassion for others is unmatched. We are so thankful for the warmth, love, care, and support you pour over us every day! Thank you for loving us so deeply and so well! We love you so very much!
Charlie, Alyssa, Jason, Kelly, Virginia, Lilly, and Collins
Toni Britt
From her daughter (Meredith Pierce): I think I can speak for all of my siblings and myself when I say that our mom taught each of us how to be a Christian in not only word but deed. I do not know how she did it with 5 of us within a 7-year span, but she did, and I am so grateful that God gave me her as my Mom. She had the gift of making each of us feel like we were her favorite. That was a gift her mother had as well. I hope I can be just like my mom when I grow up!
Nancy Hester
From her daughter (Leslie Fowler): My Mom, Nancy Hester, is an amazingly strong woman. She is loving, caring, smart, accepting, and witty. She is a blessing to our crazy family, and we love her so!!
Magill Fleming
From her friend (Leslie Miller): I would love to celebrate this beautiful mama. Magill provides so much love and support to her three boys, always arranging life and schedules to make sure they get to be a part of all their things. She is their biggest fan. And she is a super fun mom to do life with! So thankful to have her example, wisdom, and ability to laugh through it all.
Inez Downing
From her daughter (Teresa Bodine): My Mama! Amazing artist, fabulous cook, smart and funny! Taught us that being different is ok. Encouraged us all to follow our own path, whatever that was. Miss her every day!
Laura Fowler
From Leslie Fowler (Mother-in-Law): Since the boys aren’t on social media I asked them some words to describe their Mom. These are some of the many things… nice, helpful, pretty, good baseball cheerleader, good hugger, and fun at the beach.
Cindy Nivens
From Leslie Miller (daughter): I would love to celebrate this beautiful Nana.❤️ She is full of love and the ultimate giver. There is absolutely no end to what she will do for her family. We are so, so lucky to have her!
Five Ladies I would like to celebrate………
My Mom (Margaret Prickett)
She raised three boys to adulthood. We all three have taken unique career paths (pastor, police, fire). I know we tested her patience and ran her ragged, but that is no excuse for driving us to school with rollers in her hair…….she did that on purpose!
My wife (Sharon Prickett)
I encourage her to embrace her mistakes and she is sure to give me a hug every day as a reminder……….just kidding (kinda). To get the full value of joy, you must have someone to share it with, and I am glad to share a lifetime of joy with this one!
Betty Edwards (My Grandmother)
She is independent and intelligent. I have always appreciated her attention to the natural world and encouragement to us to always be explorers of the world around us.
Mrs. Teresa (i.e. Mother Teresa):
It is difficult to be a pastor with children while serving away from your family. When we were in Canton, she loved us so well (and continues to do so). Mrs. Teresa has an extraordinary gift of demonstrating love through action. We are grateful for her!
Ms. Margaret Turk (i.e. “Meme-Meme” - guessing that is how we spell it!)
Every pastor needs someone in their life that is not afraid to tell the truth. Ms. Margaret was that person for me. When I was ready to quit, she wouldn’t let me. I can honestly say I am still in ministry because of her confidence in me.
Who inspires you? Who do you celebrate this day? Write it in the comments.
