Jamey's Newsletter: Sunday, July 10, 2022
My kindergarten teacher pulled my parents aside and told them that it might be best that I repeat kindergarten. She did not have any confidence in my ability to learn. Maybe I had given her a reason when after all, I had more important things like baseball games to play, woods behind my house to explore, and bicycle ramps to build.
My kindergarten teacher did not see any future potential when she looked at me. However, she only saw the early chapters of my life. When we fail to see potential in others, it may be that we are only looking at one chapter of their life.
We may have missed the moments where they stood with courage, showed compassion, or loved deeply.
Before judging someone based on the one chapter you are reading, take time to get to know their whole story. The person you are seeing may surprise you!
Who do you need to get to know more about today? Take the time to hear their story.

Prayer of the Week
God, we confess that we don’t always understand our own actions. We clearly know what is right but we don’t always do it. We also clearly know what is wrong but we do these things anyway. Forgive us! Through Jesus Christ, our Lord set us free from the sin that controls us. Amen.
