There have been dark days where I didn’t feel God and was utterly hopeless. So many challenging times where the sound of birds chirping in the early mornings made me cringe at the thought of having to face another day.
Even in these moments of life where our journeys are at the most challenging point, even then, He is there. I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty of a sunrise and the early morning birds because it’s a new day, a chance to be better today than I was yesterday, learn, grow, and be available to God.
I know the dark days will come again, but I choose to be grateful even then. I have been protected from far worse than I’ve experienced. I’ve been loved and cared for in ways that I cannot imagine.
So, I choose gratitude even when life is hard. I choose to remember the times I’ve been carried out of storms by the God that loves me.
Today, my life consists of being humbled and grateful for all that I have, even what I’ve lost, because even there, God has held me.
